multiDesk can appear two ways on
the taskbar. It can show all desktop icons on the taskbar, which looks
like figure 1, or show only one icon on the taskbar, which looks like
figure 2.

Show
Only One Icon Mode:
This is a new feature that would
save you valuable taskbar space. With this feature, you will only have
one icon on the taskbar, as shown in figure 2. The number on the icon
indicates which desktop you are currently on. You can configure how the
icon will respond to your mouse clicks. We recommend setting your left
mouse button to "Hide/Show desktop", and setting your right
mouse button to "Scroll right". This way, you can right click
on the icon to scroll between desktops, and left click on the icon to
hide/show the current desktop.
Show
All Icons Mode:
multiDesk will place two types of
icons in the taskbar in this mode. The left most icon is the main icon.
This icon represents the multiDesk program and the global desktop. The
other icons are called desktop icons. They are numbered, and represent
the corresponding desktops. Left click on a desktop icon will switch you
to that desktop. Right click on a desktop icon will move the foreground
window into that desktop. Right click on the main icon will make the
foreground window global.
Global - When a window is global,
it will appear on every desktop. Some other software call it
"sticky window". You can un-globalize a window by moving it
into a desktop.
Taskbar & Mouse Control really
only applies to the main icon. The main icon is the left most icon in
"show all icons" mode, or the single icon in "show only
one icon" mode. It looks like the following:

- use only one icon on taskbar -
Checking this box and pressing OK button will turn multiDesk into
"show only one icon" mode. Unchecking this box and
pressing OK button will turn multiDesk into "show all
icons" mode.
- bring up menu - mouse click on
the main icon will bring up the settings dialog box.
- hide/show desktop - left click
on the main icon will minimize all windows. This is intended to
replace the Show Desktop button that comes with Windows 98 and save
more taskbar space.
- scroll left - left click on the
main icon will switch to the previous desktop. If you are already on
the first desktop, multiDesk will switch you to the last desktop.
- move window to desktop - this
feature is not implemented yet.
- scroll right - right click on
the main icon will switch to the next desktop. If you are already on
the last desktop, multiDesk will switch you to the first desktop.
